Tremont West Completes the Tremont Towpath Integration Plan

2017 brought much excitement around the Towpath Trail in Tremont.  There was a groundbreaking in Clark Field for Stage 3, new mounds of earth popped out of the ground that will bring new vistas to Tremont and the pathway is taking shape.  Tremont West received funds from Ohio Capital Corporation to plan for this trail asset in our neighborhood.
Thank you to all who volunteered their time on the steering committee and stakeholder committee as well as all who filled out the survey online or at your block club meeting to assist with creating this plan!
This plan is designed to provide practical recommendations that will serve Tremont's Towpath Trail.
The purpose:
  • To connect the Tremont community to the outdoors, to resources in and around the neighborhood, and to one another.
  • To communicate the value and opportunity presented by the Towpath Trail.
  • To remove barriers that prevent people from taking advantage of the trail, perceived or otherwise.
  • To inspire reluctant participants to engage.
  • To truly integrate the trail into the community, making a resource for all.
Tremont West has leveraged the plan to receive funding from the Ohio and Erie Canalway to begin to work on implementation of the plan, which can be found here.  If you are interested in volunteering to assist with implementation, please reach out to Michelle Davis at Tremont West,
