Arts in August

Check back for our 2012 calendar!

Arts in August is presented in partnership by Tremont West Development Corporation, ParkWorks and Councilman Joe Cimperman, Ward 3.

Thank you to our 2011 sponsors:  Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, Medical Mutual of Ohio, Clear Channel Outdoor, Forest City Enterprises, Independence Excavating, Inc., McCormack Baron, Neighborhood Progress, Inc., Ohio Arts Council, Third Federal Savings and Loan and Tuesdays in Tremont participants 806 MartiniWine Bar, Bac, Bistro on Lincoln Park, Civilization, Dante, Fat Cats, Grumpy's Cafe, Istanbul Grill, Lava Lounge, Tremont Scoops, Tremont Tap House and Ty Fun Thai Bistro.

The mission of Arts in August is to expose the people of Tremont, Greater Cleveland and Cuyahoga County to the beauty and positive influence of the arts.  Furthermore, it is our solid purpose to provide this exposure free of cost!  Arts in August is a unique performance series.  The three presenters include two nonprofits and a City Councilman; a true collaboration of unique partners.  The three partnering presenters aim to specialize in building community in both the social and physical realms.  Tremont West, ParkWorks and Councilman Joe Cimperman hold values in community and know the value in bringing the community together.  What better way is there to bring a community together but around the arts!

Lincoln Park, located at W. 14th and Starkweather in the heart of Tremont, is the perfect venue for this signature outdoor performance series. Having steadily grown since 2002, Arts in August attracts thousands of residents and visitors each year.

Arts in August has gained the attention and attendance of not only Tremont neighbors and friends - but of a captive North East Ohio community as well. With devotees now expecting events, the schedule has grown to include even more arts groups.  Exposure to arts in a community setting is an immeasurable asset to the Tremont neighborhood.  Arts in August utilizes each company's dancers, theater-quality staging, sound, lighting, and costuming to create a fun, casual and family-oriented experience. Often, this performance series is an inauguration to professional ballet and dance for both our young and adult audiences.
